Meet Poppy Johnson
A speaker, media personality, educator, entrepreneur, and storyteller passionate about helping people grow, lead, and walk confidently in their purpose.
Over the years, I've built a career rooted in service, storytelling, and community impact. Whether I'm speaking on stage, mentoring students, creating content, hosting conversations, or leading initiatives, my goal is always the same: to use my experiences, knowledge, and platform to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
My passion for storytelling and communications led me to launch Poppy J. Media, LLC, a media and communications company dedicated to helping brands, organizations, and entrepreneurs share their stories with purpose and impact.
What started as a creative outlet and entrepreneurial venture quickly became something much bigger. Building Poppy J. Media challenged me to think more strategically about leadership, communications, branding, and business development. In many ways, it was the catalyst that inspired me to pursue my MBA at Prairie View A&M University.
As my business grew, so did my desire to strengthen my knowledge and expand my ability to serve others. That journey ultimately led me to earn my MBA, serve as a Graduate Commencement Speaker, and be nationally recognized as an AT&T Dream In Black Rising Future Maker.
Today, I sit at the intersection of storytelling, strategy, and impact; bringing together my passion for media, education, leadership, and community engagement.
I'm the host of The Girl, Lemme Tell You Podcast, where I share honest conversations and lessons about faith, growth, leadership, relationships, motherhood, and navigating life's many transitions. I'm also the creator and host of PopTalk, a conversation-driven platform designed to highlight inspiring stories, meaningful dialogue, and the people making a difference in their communities and industries.
Above all else, I'm a woman of faith, a lifelong learner, a proud mother to my son Jeremiah, and someone who believes that every challenge, setback, and unexpected detour can become part of a greater purpose.
More Than a Brand
At the end of the day, I'm just a woman trying to make the most of every opportunity God has placed in front of me.
If my story can encourage someone else to keep going, start over, dream bigger, or trust the process a little more, then every step of the journey has been worth it.
